WEEE COMPLIANCE

Our WEEE Recycling Network

Our network of partner sites offers recycling solutions for those looking to dispose of unwanted or broken waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

This network supports an increase in WEEE recycling and helps us to get the best prices possible for our members’ WEEE obligations.

WEEE Recycling Network

Clarity Environmental established its network of WEEE recycling partner sites in 2011 to help increase the amount of household WEEE that is recycled by offering convenient alternatives to civic amenity sites across the UK.

We produce over a million tonnes of WEEE in the UK each year, making it the fastest growing type of waste in Europe.

Recycling WEEE, either by reusing the equipment or recovering its base materials, helps to save the environment by diverting it away from landfill, where it can release polluting toxins. Many people are unsure about how to dispose of their old electrical items. Our network of partner sites can provide convenient, free locations for recycling WEEE. Some of our sites also offer collections.

How it works

Mobile phones, washing machines, calculators, TVs, hairdryers, electric toothbrushes, fridges, kettles, toasters, power tools, printers and iPods – whether they are broken or still in full working order, these are just some of the items our sites will recycle.

If the item has the crossed-out wheelie bin logo on it, has a plug, uses batteries, or needs charging then it is WEEE. Our partner sites work with charities to refurbish and re-use items in good working condition. Those that are broken or unusable are sent to a local recycling plant that converts the waste back to raw materials for reuse and, very importantly, enables us to separate hazardous substances for safe recycling.

Join our network

We work with the full spectrum of recycling sites across the UK – from the most sophisticated Approved Authorised Treatment Facilities (AATFs), to the ‘man with a van’ local clearance specialists.
