Battery recycling

Scrap car batteries are considered hazardous waste and must not be disposed of with your household waste. You can usually recycle your old battery at one of the following:

  • Civic amenity and recycling centres
  • Local authority battery collection schemes
  • Licensed End of Life vehicle authorised treatment facilities
  • Licensed metal recycling sites
