David's background is in the waste, recycling and telecom sectors. Starting out with his family waste business he operated landfill sites and a waste collection fleet. David also negotiated the sale of landfill space for Biffa and collection contracts for UK Waste and The Erith Group.
In 2000 David changed career direction, taking a break from the waste industry to join MCI, selling voice and internet solutions. Here he gained extensive experience in the high-tech sector specialising in high-speed internet connections, website development and hosting.
David returned to the waste sector in 2002, establishing Clarity Environmental (initially API Trading) to focus on packaging recovery note (PRN) sales. Since then, Clarity has continued to experience substantial growth and is now one of the UK's largest trader of PRNs.
In 2007, David became a director and shareholder of Econo-Weee, a WEEE compliance scheme that soon became an integral part of Clarity and was the inspiration to develop the Recycle with Clarity initiative.
In addition, David has launched Restored Earth, an organisation to pioneer the acquisition, decontamination, restoration and planting of land to create natural habitats and provide public amenity and education.
Today, David works on brand development, negotiating larger contracts, risk analysis and spends a lot of his time troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure the continued smooth running of the business.
