Clarity supports the Big Give Christmas Challenge

We have thrown our support behind two organisations that are helping to build bright, positive futures for young people, providing funds through our Clarity Cares programme.

Donations to The Wilderness Foundation and UK Youth were given as part of our commitment to divert 1% of our profits to good causes. By donating these funds through The Big Give Christmas Challenge in December, we have doubled the impact they will have for the charities, providing learning, therapy or mentoring for young people in the UK in 2021.

Donating to UK Youth, an umbrella body that provides opportunities to young people, we are giving the gift of outdoor learning this Christmas. Our £5,000 will provide disadvantaged young people from London with an unforgettable weekend of outdoor learning. By donating via the Big Give campaign, we have helped the charity to double our donation, which will mean 60 young people can benefit from this fantastic learning experience.

Vicky Chenery, Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Clarity for their support. This year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge raised much needed funds for Avon Tyrrell, UK Youth’s outdoor learning centre in the New Forest. The £17,000 raised through the campaign will give disadvantaged young people an unforgettable weekend of outdoor learning; from canoeing and archery to high roles and wall climbing. With the guidance of our experienced outdoor learning instructors, young people will have the opportunity to build life-long skills, grow their confidence, connect with nature and enjoy much needed respite from challenging home lives. Supporting young people this year has never been more needed – Thank you.”

With the generous donation from Clarity we can continue to work with our most vulnerable clients who really need our support during these difficult times.

Jo Roberts

CEO The Wilderness Foundation

Our £2,000 donation to the Wilderness Foundation, a hybrid organisation working for a healthy environment and mental wellbeing, we have helped the charity reach its target. The Wilderness Foundation helps young people reconnect to society and themselves through outdoor adventure and mentoring. Our donation will offer 6 complex and vulnerable young people face to face outdoor therapy for six weekly sessions and potential mentor support for a further 2 months.

Jo Roberts, CEO of The Wilderness Foundation, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Clarity Environmental who supported our The Big Give Christmas Challenge and helped us in reaching our target of £10,000. With the generous donation from Clarity we can continue to work with our most vulnerable clients who really need our support during these difficult times”.

Our donations to these two charities in December contributes towards a diversion of £34,000 from profits to go to good causes this quarter. In a bid to support a range of charities that have been affected by the pandemic and restrictions this year, other charities that have benefitted from our Clarity Cares programme this quarter include Fareshare Sussex, Survivors’ Network and National Trust.

This year has been especially tough on young people, impacting their lives at home, work and in education settings. The full impacts of the pandemic and the lockdown restrictions on mental health and wellbeing of young people may not be known for some time so we were keen to ensure that our donations provided support for those who may find things difficult.

Lucy Brooks, Head of Communications at Clarity Environmental, said: “This year has been especially tough on young people, impacting their lives at home, work and in education settings. The full impacts of the pandemic and the lockdown restrictions on mental health and wellbeing of young people may not be known for some time so we were keen to ensure that our donations provided support for those who may find things difficult.

“The Wilderness Foundation and UK Youth are two charities that are doing amazing work to support and improve the lives of young people. We are pleased to be able to do our bit for both charities, and even better that our donations have been doubled by the Big Give Challenge. This increases the impact our donation will have in what has been a difficult year for many organisations such as these.”

Clarity Cares

In 2018, Clarity Environmental formalised a commitment to corporate social responsibility by creating the Clarity Cares programme. This is our promise to donate profits to good causes. Supported by the year-on-year growth, Clarity Environmental donated over £50,000 in 2019.
